Yvette Therese Cote (nee Vaillancourt)
Passed away suddenly at RVH on May 4, 2018 in her 86th year.
Beloved wife of the late Clifford Cote. Dear mother of William (Whip) (the late Brenda, Leola Houle), Doug (Carol), David (Cathy), Raymond (Lucille), Dan (Zrinka), Christine (Tim Hook), and Charlie.
Cherished ‘Epic’ grandmother of Kim (Brent Martin), Melanie (Lee) Ratcliffe, Lori (Jay) Whitney, Brent (Josephine Balatayo), Jayden, Adam, Matthew, Stephanie, James and Joel Dorion.
Loved by great grandchildren Makayla Whitney, Stephanie and Joshua Ramos, Tyler, Brayden and Jessica Ratcliffe and Jalynn. Predeceased by Alexis Tyerman.
Yvette is survived by her brother Gerald (the late Cecile) Vaillancourt. Predeceased by siblings Conrad (the late Wilma) Vaillancourt, Annette (the late Armand ‘Flash’ Dupuis, and Jean (the late Norman) Dupuis.
Yvette had a wide range of interests, like euchre, Star Trek and playing Nintendo games with her grandchildren (coining her as their ‘Epic’ grandma). She was very creative and talented, with a wide range of crafts. She also enjoyed collecting Nativity scenes and angels, the count is yet unknown. For many years, Yvette was an active member and treasurer of The Ladies of St. Ann’s, and she ran the Simcoe-North election office during provincial and federal elections. She rarely, if ever, missed church, even if she was, by other’s standards, too tired to go. Her main focus was her family and friends, and was always available for a meal, a talk, some fun, or assistance. She leaves behind a wake of broken hearts and tears. May God bless Yvette, and comfort all those who grieve for her loss.
Her funeral mass has been celebrated with internment at St. Ann’s Cemetery.
We would like to express sincere appreciation to Doctors Maher and Martin, and the staff of the Barrie RVH ICU for their excellent care and compassion.
Memorial donations to The Ladies of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, or the Barrie RVH ICU would be appreciated.
Her last fortune cookie read:
You will be called to fill a position of high honor.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Yvette Therese Cote 2018.source
