Emilie Rioux
Surrounded by her children and grandchildren, Emilie met her husband Charles in heaven on May 3, 2018.
Emilie was born in Richer, MB on March 29, 1940 to Victor and Alice (née Hupé) Larocque. At a young age, Emilie ventured to Winnipeg to work at the St. Boniface Hospital. She met Charles Rioux and they were wed on May 17, 1958.
Mom and Dad raised their four children in Saint-Boniface and remained in the community for the remainder of their lives. Together they built a cottage in St. Malo where the family enjoyed many gatherings. The door was always open to friends and family.
Emilie was heartbroken when her beloved husband Charles passed away over 12 years ago. A piece of her went missing.
She was predeceased by many loved ones.
Emilie is lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Marie-Ange Rioux Roy (Rob) and children Nicholas Roy (Nicole), Collin Roy (Nichol), Nathalie Spencer (Ryan); Antoine (Darlene); Paulette Jackson (Larry Grawburger) and son Kevin Jackson; Véronique Gaudry (Marcel) and sons Raymond Gaudry (Patricia) and Richard Gaudry. She was also survived by her siblings: Lucien Larocque (Diane), Marcel Larocque (Anita), Jeannette Trudeau and Evelyne Gauthier; her special friend “La Petite Louise” as well as the Rioux family and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to ma tante “Tit Coeur for all the help you provided to Mom. Many thanks also to all the staff at Actionmarguerite – St. Vital (Foyer Valade) – Unité Marguerite for your wonderful care and compassion towards Emilie and her family.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 9 at the St. Boniface Cathedral. A private interment will take place at a later date.
