Jack Ralph Ayles
1939-2018
Jack Ayles, 78 of Moncton, went to his
heavenly home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Jack was the son of Lloyd and
Gladys (Bateman) Ayles. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Muriel
(Mollins) Ayles, three children, Barry (Carla), Heather (David) and
Brent (Kim) along with eight grandchildren; Blake, Sam, Emily,
Allyson, Nathan, Austin, Brooke and Morgan. He is also survived by a
sister Donna Capson of Calgary, brother and sisters-in-law, Stewart
and Neta Constantine and Barbara Collier, several aunts and uncles,
nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his parents, two
brothers-in-law, Fred and Albert and a niece Carol.
Jack held a variety of leadership roles in his local church.
He also served with the Gideons, Christian Service Brigade and Camp
Wildwood.
He was an avid outdoor enthusiast, taking many trips along
the Bay of Fundy. Camping, hiking, working in the woods and growing
Christmas trees were his passion. He loved spending time at his log
cabin. For travels, Jack and Muriel’s adventures took them
to many Quartet Conventions in Kentucky, Bus Tours and Alaska. He also
loved many road trips on his Goldwing.
Jack’s career was devoted to teaching. He taught
one year in Yarmouth, NS., three in Oromocto, NB., and twenty-eight
years at Riverview High from which he retired as Vice Principal and
faithfully followed the Riverview Royals Hockey team.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview E1B 0E4 (869-2007). The family will be receiving relatives
and friends at Journey Church (1539 Salisbury Rd.) on Thursday from
2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00pm. A service
celebrating Jack’s life will take place at Journey Church on
Friday, May 4, 2018 at 2:00pm with Rev. David Moorehouse officiating.
The interment will take place at a later date in Five Points Cemetery.
Donations made to Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation or
Hospice Greater Moncton would be greatly appreciated by the family.
