Marion (Johanne Frederikke) Couldrey
Our precious mother and nanny Marion Couldrey passed from this life on April 11, 2018 with her 5 children beside her.
Mom was born in Leicester, England on March 31,1930. She traveled to Canada where she married the love of her life, Gilbert. They set up their home in Montreal, Quebec and had their first 3 children. In 1959 they crossed Canada by train to Vancouver and then sailed to Sydney, Australia. In 1962 they had their 4th child and then in 1964 sailed back to Vancouver,BC. Mom and Dad lived in North Burnaby where they added another child to the family and then moved to Maple Ridge. Mom was a foster mother to many children and received the Mother of the Year Award from Grace McCarthy. She was a dedicated mother to many and was much loved.
Predeceased by her husband Gilbert Couldrey in 1978 and her granddaughter Terri Couldrey in 2017, brothers Colin and Fred and sisters Gwen and Betty. She is survived by her children, Gillianne Paterson (Ernest), Graeme Couldrey (Susan), Gary Couldrey (Nicole), Gwen Rikkinen (David), Kelly Boice (John), Stepson Bryan Couldrey (Alexa) and Foster son Jova Bosanac. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren. Mica Paterson, Tyrelle Smith, Dar Couldrey, Lamar Couldrey, Sarah Rikkinen and Taylor Rikkinen. Sister June Stewart-Burgoyne and brother David Sharpe along with several nieces and nephews.
Our mother will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
