OBITUARY
Bruno Svetina
3 April , 1934 – 4 April , 2018
In Loving memory of Bruno Daniel Svetina who was born on April 3, 1934 in Pared, Slovenia and passed away April 4, 2018 In West Kelowna, BC.
Bruno was born and grew up in the small village of Pared Slovenia. He attended school in Skocian till the age of 14 where he then went to trade school in Lokev for carpentry. He married his loving wife Aurelia in 1953 before entering the Slovenian Navy where he served for 18 months. Afterwards he worked as a cabinet maker for nearly 2 years. Bruno and Aurelia immigrated to Canada in 1957. In Calgary, Alberta he laid hardwood flooring for 9 years until he was employed in the Housekeeping Department at the Calgary General Hospital. He then rose to the position of Assistant Housekeeping Director. He retired from that position at the age of 50 in 1985. He and Aurelia moved to Kelowna, BC where they resided until his passing. Bruno is survived by his loving wife Aurelia, son Branko wife Rene, daughter Vilma and husband Blaine. Two grandsons’ Graham and wife Rachel and Brendon. As well as one great grandson Asher. Bruno will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Bruno’s Life will be held on April 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at First Memorial Funeral Home, 1211 Sutherland Ave. Kelowna, BC.
