Obituary of Betty Pretty
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Betty Frances Cavelle Pretty on April 7, 2018 at her home in Bishop’s Falls, NL.
Betty was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Elsie Bursey, and son Scott Pretty.
Betty will be missed dearly by her husband, Clifford; her children, Wayne (Olive), Max (Dorothy),
Gayelia (Chess), Michelle (Peter), Nadine (David), Glen (Jocelyn), Cindy, Todd (Lisa), and daughter-in-law, Charlene, twenty-three grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Betty will be remembered by sisters Loretta (Harry), Wanda (Chris); brothers Gordon (Joyce), Mervin,
Ira (Mary), Dennis (Martha), Lloyd (Joyce), Gower (Debbie), and Roger as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.
Betty grew up in Clarenville and moved to Bishop’s Falls where she married her husband, Clifford of sixty-two years and raised nine children. Later in years they relocated to Alberta for employment and returned home to Bishop’s Falls, a place they love. She became a Christian at the Salvation Army Church where she became involved with the Women’s Ministries, and women’s bible study.
Betty was a strong woman, with a quiet spirit, kind-hearted, and had a love for everyone.
Majors David and Wavey Chaulk will conduct the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel, on Thursday at 2 P.M.
