Derek John Heath
Heath, Derek John, age 86, of Dartmouth, passed away on April 2, 2018 in the Dartmouth General Hospital.
Born in Beckenham, Kent, England, he was a son of the late Nellie (Foot) and Frank Heath.
After working for over 25 years with Teleglobe Canada, mostly in Quebec, Derek and his wife Irene moved to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia for their retirement years where they made many new friends. They always enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren, both in Nova Scotia and in Quebec.
Derek is survived by his sons, Michael (Millie), of Brossard, Quebec, Robin (Dolores), Australia, Clive (Catherine), Greenfield Park, Que.; grandchildren, Evan, Rachel, Shane and Chelsea. He is also survived by his brother Charlie (Shirley), England; sister Janet (Lionel) Sargent, England, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Irene (Millin); and his sister Catherine (Eric) Burrows.
Memorial service will be held at 2pm on Thursday April 12th in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
