Obituary for Rick Cherrey
Richard “Rick” John Cherrey, of Walkerton, passed away at Walkerton Hospital on Saturday, March 31, 2018 in his 68th year.
Beloved husband of Diane (nee Dickert). Loving father of Danielle (Ambrose) Garvey of Neustadt, Deanna Cherrey (Richard Martin) of Walkerton, and James (Tina) Todtz of Walkerton. Cherished grandfather of Hailey, Emma, Joshua, Jelena, Brittney and Rozlyn, Ashley, Samantha, Chris and Connor and great-grandfather of Adam. Dear brother of Raymond (Ruby) Cherrey of Hanover, Bonnie Simpson of Cambridge, Lynda (Greg)Talbot of Durham, Mike, Jack (Corinna) and Dan Tasker and brother-in-law of Carl Winfield of New Hamburg. Remembered by Diane’s siblings, Jean (Robert) Douglas of Waterloo, Lucy (John) Hokke of Walkerton, Randy (Vicki) Dickert of Hanover and Kevin (Karrie) Dickert of Mildmay.
Rick was predeceased by his grandchildren Isabelle, Grace and Gracie-Ray Garvey; his sister Kathy Winfield; his parents-in-law Vernon and Valera Dickert and his parents Milton Cherrey and Maretta MacLean.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Cameron Funeral Home, Walkerton (1106 Yonge Street).
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Walkerton (611 Colborne Street). Rev. Catharine House officiating.
Spring interment in Lauderbach St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Normanby Township.
