FOURNIER, Barry Albert
3/27/1939 – 3/23/2018
Passed away peacefully at Baillie House (Ruskin Hill) on 3/23/2018.
Barry was born in 1939 in New Westminster to Doreen and Albert and grew up in Port Moody. He served in the Navy and spent much of his life working as a chef and restauranteur. At the age of 49, he suffered a stroke that left him with disabilities, but he never let that stop him, and he continued to travel, visit family, and enjoy his many friends. He will be missed.
Barry is predeceased by his parents, Doreen and Albert, his brother, David, and his sisters, Arlene and Judy.
He is survived by his brother, Don, his daughters, Shawn and Richelle (Gerry), his son, Lance, his grandchildren, Bryce (Natasha) and Tiana, and his great granddaughter, Tali, as well as many nieces and nephews and so many wonderful friends at the Maple Ridge Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #88.
A very special thank you to brother-in-law (Uncle) Dan, who was there for Dad and us without fail this past year and to whom we are forever grateful.
A special thank you, too, to the staff at RMH, the PATH unit, and the Ruskin Hill unit at Baillie House for the great care given to our Dad.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel (Osborn’s), 11969 216th St, Maple Ridge. Refreshments to follow. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
