Leslie Arthur King
Leslie Arthur King age 89, beloved husband and father passed away March 14, 2018 at the Meadows in Swift Current. Les was predeceased by his parents Russel and Clara King, brothers Charles. Garnet, Roy and sister Audrey. His parents-in-law Henry and Helen Becker. Les is survived by his wife Edna of 65 years. Sons Robert (Beth), Lawrence, daughter Diane (Mike) Heschel. Step bothers Doug and Dave (Eileen) Ferguson. 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. Brother-in-law Marvin Becker, sisters-in-law Doris King and Lenora King. Numerous nieces and nephews. Les was born in Swift Current March 10, 1929, grew up on the family farm and attended school in Stewart Valley. February 7, 1953 married Edna Becker. Les and Edna lived in Swift Current where Les was employed by the C.P .R. as a sign painter for few years. Then he was self employed as painter and decorator at King’s Way Painting until he retired due to health problems. Les and Edna were members of the Square Dance Club and enjoyed many years of dancing. After retirement did a lot of travelling. Took many bus tours across United States and Canada. Also enjoyed camping and purchased a cottage at Lac Pelletier. Les was a member of the Prairie Pioneer Kiwanis club which he really enjoyed. Les enjoyed visiting with family and friends and going for coffee. He was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran church. Memorial Service was held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 2.00p.m., from Mount Calvary Lutheran Church with Pastor Brad Julien officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the S.P.C .A. or Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Arrangements were in care of Warren’s Funeral Home.
