Geraldine Elsie Baker
BAKER, Geraldine Elsie, Age 91, of Fall River, passed away peacefully in the Windsor Elms on Thursday, March 8, 2018.
Born in Arlington, Kings Co., on October 13, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lulu Metzler.
She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years; Reginald Baker, and her children; Beverley (the late Leon Lake), Virginia (the late Colin MacCallum), Bonnie (Dale) MacCallum, Maurice (Lois) Baker, Karl (Irene) Baker, and Martin (Wanda) Baker; 19 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren have many loving memories of their Gram, along with her nieces, nephews, and her sister-in-law Joyce Metzler.
Geraldine was predeceased by her infant son; Frederick, siblings; Clyde Metzler, Ransford (Viola) Metzler, Kay (Vaughn) Olson, and Irene (Avery) Hatt, sister-in law Marjorie (Carl) Sharpe.
Geraldine and Reg lived in many places including Wine Harbour, Dartmouth, Fredericton; NB, Lloydminster; AB, Yellowknife; NWT and Kentville before retiring to Fall River in 1991. They spoke fondly of all those places and the many wonderful friends who lived there. She has lived for the past 23 months in the Windsor Elms, Falmouth, NS and her family is eternally grateful for the excellent care bestowed upon her.
Geraldine lived a life of service for her Heavenly Father, she lovingly filled her place. Her Husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her much joy and she loved each one immensely. To be in her presence was truly special.
Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday March 16th and 12-1 Saturday March 17th in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street Dartmouth. The funeral service will take place at 1pm on Saturday March 17th in the funeral home chapel, Wayne Hutchinson and Lucy Warren officiating, with a reception to follow.
Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
Donations in memory of Geraldine, may be made to the VON or Northwood Care.
