Paulette « Nelly » Simmonds
Simmonds, Pauletta “Nelly”, age 68, of North Preston, passed away on March 4, 2018 in the Dartmouth General Hospital.
Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Harvey Sr. and Mary (Beals) Simmonds.
Nelly worked for 29 years with Hermes Electronics, retiring to take care of her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Thomas Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxillary.
She liked to knit, crochet and sew gifts for her family. She will be remembered for her famous lasagna and the moments she cherished with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nelly is survived by her husband of 47 years, King; daughter Paulesa; sons, King Jr. (Danielle), Jason (Vanessa), Antonio “Dean” (Angela), Clemmie Jr. (Wanda); 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and many godchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Rosaline (Tony), Daisy (Michael), Theresa, Darlene (Bruce), Edith (Charlie), Lorraine; Walter (Viola), Roger Sr. (Brenda), Phillip, Harvey Jr., Leonard, Sinclair, Freeman, and Christopher and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sister Beverley; brother Clemmie Sr.; and grandson Naricho Clayton.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 on Friday March 9th in St. Thomas Baptist Church, North Preston where the funeral service will also take place at 1pm on Saturday March 10, Pastor Lloyd Grant officiating. Burial in St. Thomas Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Scleroderma Canada.
