Obituary of Mao Tran
TRAN: Mao Khanh –
A resident of Chatham, Mao Tran passed away at the London Health Sciences Centre – University Hospital on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the age of 68.
Born in Haiphong, Vietnam, Mao was the son of the late Van Khanh Tran and Tuat Thi Tran.
Beloved husband of 43 years to Lan Thi Nguyen.
Loving father of Kim Robert (John) of Merlin, Helen Franklin (John) of Tilbury, Hoang Tran (Laurie) of Korea and Kristie Tran of Chatham.
Proud grandfather of Corissa Robert, John Robert, Raya Franklin and Kieran Tran.
Mao is the youngest of five older brothers and one older sister, all of Vietnam.
Mao retired from Ventra Plastics after 27 years of service. He will be remembered for his big heart and his caring, selfless nature. He was a man of few words, but the words he did speak were always profound. He was a strong person – physically, mentally and emotionally, and was admired by many.
Mao had a very positive energy and liked to surround himself with family and friends whenever possible. He had a great sense of humour and enjoyed telling jokes and stories. Soccer was Mao’s absolute favourite sport. He also enjoyed fishing, tending to his aquarium and gardening his own herbs and vegetables.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 3:00 – 5:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm. Cremation to follow.
