Danne, surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer, at Castleview Care Centre in Castlegar. He was loved by so many and will be dearly remembered by his Mom, Merla; siblings Lavonne & (Rob) Ross and Jeff & (Diana) Ridge, nephew Chris & (Carol) Ridge, niece Sara Ridge, and great-nieces Emily & Presley Ridge. Danne was predeceased by his Dad, Harold.
Danne was born in Nelson to Merla and Harold Ridge. He was raised in South Slocan for 45 years then moved into Nelson for 14 years. For approximately 2 years Danne then lived in a group home in Castlegar, which he dearly loved.
He worked for West Kootenay Power for 33 years and enjoyed working and laughter with all the men down at No. 3 Plant. They were all so great with Danne.
Danne was happy camping, fishing and going on bus trips with mom and dad. He especially enjoyed the trip to Disney Land and Graceland where his favorite singer Elvis used to live. He also liked to ride his bike (Ralph), go for rides on his skidoo in the winter and his 110 Honda bike in the spring and summer. Danne was often found helping his dad and brother Jeff splitting, stacking and bringing in wood for winter.
The family is thankful for the loving care Danne received in Nelson, Prince House and Castleview. He loved you all. Thanks also to Dr. Ankenbauer and his support.
