Obituary of May Bayes
After a long life of service and dedication, May passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, Dunnville in her 91st year. Devoted and loving wife of Gordon for 63 years, who predeceased her in 2013. Dear mother of Gary (Brenda) and Gail Riley (Jeff Entwistle). Cherished grandmother of Alysha, Kyle, Ashley, Carly, Sean, Abby and Ursula and step-grandchildren Starla, Shalna, Jonathan and Jade. She loved the visits with her great-granddaughters Aubrey and Elora. Also remembered by her sister Freda Lee and brother Ted Leech (Jean), and many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by son Robert, daughter-in-law Judy, sisters Iva, Ruth, Jessie and brothers Freddy and Charlie. May was a proud 65 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, holding memberships in: Loyal Chapter No. 76; Binbrook Chapter No. 117; and was an Honorary member of Historic Chapter No. 194 of Ontario; and Gasport Chapter No. 153, State of NY. Friends are invited to visit at BALLARD MINOR FUNERAL HOME, 315 Broad St. E., Dunnville on Thursday from 2-4 and 6 -8 p.m. A funeral service and Order of the Eastern Star service will be held in the chapel at the funeral home on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 1 p.m. Burial to follow at Melick Cemetery, Canborough. If desired, memorial donations to the Dunnville Hospital & Healthcare Foundation – Emergency Room Project, or Wounded Warriors Canada would be sincerely appreciated.
