Caulene Mary Bissonnette
Bissonnette,
Caulene Mary
On February 9th in her 90th year, passed away in hospital with her family by her side. Cherished wife of the late Lawrence Bissonnette. Beloved mother of eight; Susan Goddard (Bill Robinson), Judith Albert (Joseph), John (Janet), Tom (Kelly), Laurie Fee (Larry), Peter (Louise), Cindy and Virginia. Grandmother of Rachel (Dax) and Noah Goddard (Veronica and their son Brayden), Joey (Cindy and their sons Liam and Maddox), Brad and Dylan Bissonnette, Tyson and Taylor (Joe) Bissonnette, Eryn (Jonah) and Jordan (Rhiann) Fee, Ellis and Cameron Bissonnette and Breanna Michaud. Caulene was born the eldest of five to the late William and Margaret Garvin. To her great sadness, she was the last surviving member of her family having been predeceased by all of her beloved brothers and sisters; Michael Garvin, Jeanette Hallett, Margie Letts (late Earl) and Dick Garvin (late Margaret). She is survived by her brother in-law Al Hallett and her sisters in-law Isabelle Fodey and Donna Garvin. Caulene will be missed by many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. Caulene was a lifelong learner who valued education and encouraged her children to strive to complete as much education as possible. Upon graduating as valedictorian of her high school class and having earned several scholarships, she was one of only three women accepted into pre-med at Queen’s University. Caulene instead chose to complete a languages degree and after graduation, started teaching at a one-room country school. It was this that led her to meet her future husband, Lawrence. After the birth of their first child, Caulene devoted herself to raising her eight children. Caulene continued to learn throughout her whole life, being an avid reader of politics, biographies and autobiographies. She embraced the internet which opened doors for her voracious appetite for news and information. The family wishes to thank our sister Judy who dedicated many years of her life to taking care of our mother and also a thank you to our brother Peter, his wife Louise and their children Ellis and Cameron, who opened their home and created a safe and loving environment for Mom during the last two years of her life.
