It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John (Jack) Walsh of Petty Harbour, who passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family. He is predeceased by his children Yvonne and Gerard, his parents Frank and Cecelia (Doyle), his brothers James (Jim) and Ronald (Ron) Walsh, parents-in-law Frank and Lucy (Bidgood), brothers-in-law Luke (Stella), Ambrose, and William, sister-in-law Annie (Robert), and Marie. Leaving to mourn and celebrating his life of 57 years of marriage, his wife and best friend Gertrude (Bidgood). His loving sons, Robert (Darlene), Stephen (Joanne), Paul (Louise) and his grandchildren Colin (Ashley), Alexandria, Jack and Megan, whom he adored! He also leaves to mourn his sisters Mary and Len (Lou). Longtime friends Betty and Jimmy and Family. His brother-in-law Johnny (Eileen) and sisters-in-law Theresa Dinn, Kay Walsh and Kay Bidgood, and Helen. He is survived by numerous nephews and nieces, friends and special family members of the Kennedy/Hannaford Family from Trespassey. A special Thank You to the Community Health Nurses Kelly and Heather, for the care that they provide. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Thursday from 5 pm – 9 pm, and Friday from 2 pm – 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Joseph’s Parish, Petty Harbour on Saturday, February 10th, 2018 at 2 pm. Cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted, or a donation may be made to Palliative Care Unit or St. Joseph’s Parish.
Dad touched the lives of many, near and far. His kind heart and smile will be missed by all.
