UMLAH, James Warren, Age 70, of Terence Bay. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother James Warren Umlah, on February 6, 2018. Jim passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital. Jim was the eldest son of the late Jessie and Gordon Umlah. Jim enjoyed outdoor activities, and in summer months loved to hunt, and fish the lakes and rivers for trout and bass. The long walk through the forest to get to the lake was just as important to Jim as the fish he caught. He would often pitch a tent and enjoy the great outdoors overnight. Jim was very mechanically inclined, and just like his Dad, he loved the challenge of fixing things. He seemed to have exactly the right tool for each job he tackled. Over the years Jim put his hands to many things. From residential milk deliveries, to installing aluminum siding, to driving a dump truck, to working in the forest cutting logs and doing silviculture for Scott Paper, his employment varied. Jim loved the hours he spent with the Deal boys; hanging out in their heavy equipment garage, and lending a hand when possible; Jim deeply appreciated their friendship and generosity. Jim is survived by his loving brothers Warren Umlah, and Bruce Umlah (Rosalyn); and sons John Umlah and Roy Umlah, and daughter Shauna Crowe. A grave site service will be held in the spring at the Umlah Cemetery in Hatchet Lake. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Dartmouth Funeral Home.
