Lisette Andrea Brown (Rodenberg) was born on Sept 18, 1928, in the Kinloch district near Kelvington, SK. She attended Kinloch School and later took a secretarial course in Regina, Sk. After spending a few years in British Columbia she moved back to Saskatchewan in 1956. She married Joey Brown on October 12, 1957 in Kinloch, Sk. They settled at Joey’s family farm near Neidpath, SK where they farmed and raised livestock for nearly 40 years. Lisette spent her days at the farm tending to her large garden, reading and raising her 3 children. With children came grandchildren who also have fond memories of their time at the farm. The farm house was a meeting place for family and neighbours to gather and share a meal and a good visit. The coffee pot was always percolating on the stove waiting for whoever would come calling. Lisette moved with Joey to Swift Current in 1995, family was still near for visiting. Lisette spent a lot of her time on the phone talking to ensure that no one lost touch. She was always documenting her family’s life events and was always current with their lives. As she struggled with her health in recent years she fought with a gentleness and grace that left many of us thinking that perhaps it may have been too much. Through it all she never complained and made sure her family was cared for before her passing. Lisette stayed with us long enough to ensure Joey’s return to Swift Current to be with his sister Violet. The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care that Lisette received at the nursing home in Mankota and just recently at House 18 at The Meadows. In her memory, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Swift Current S. P. C. A. Warren’s Funeral Home in care of the arrangements.
