Malcolm « Mac » MacLean
1936-2018
MacLEAN MALCOLM – Malcolm “Mac” Edward MacLean, son
of the late Charles Dewey & Pearl (Wilson) MacLean, born in
Napadoggan, NB, passed away peacefully at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, on
Saturday, January 20th, 2018. After graduating from Mount Allison
University in 1958, Mac worked for the DFO at both the St. Andrews
Biological Station and the Bedford Institute of Oceanography before
going back school at Dalhousie Pharmacy College where he finished top
in his class. During his time in Halifax, Mac obtained his
pilot’s license and spent many hours flying float planes in the
area. Mac worked as a pharmacist in Moncton, St. George and St.
Andrews until 2007. Following retirement, Mac dedicated most of his
time to his various hobbies, including beekeeping, model railroading,
and playing the fiddle with “Homemade Bread”.
Survived by his wife Carol (Bruce) MacLean of St. Andrews, NB, and his
two sons Ian Bruce (Rose) of St. Albert, AB and Jeffrey Craig (Monica)
of Calgary, AB, and grandchildren Blake, Abigail, Hannah, Lucas and
Isaac.
The family will receive friends during a visitation to take place at
Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB on Friday
January 26, 2018 between 3:00 and 7:00 PM. A celebration of
Mac’s life will be held at the W.C. O’Neill Complex in St.
Andrews on July 21, 2018.
