Lovingly Remembered
With feelings that are a mixture of sadness and yet joy for the prospect of her eternal future with Jesus and reunion with her husband, the family of Ruth Nelson announces her peaceful passing away on January 14, 2018 in Edmonton, Alberta.
Ruth was born in Edmonton, Alberta on October 22, 1922 to Alex and Helen Fraser. She married Harold Nelson on June 19, 1948 and they enjoyed a full and wonderful marriage until he passed away in 1998. Her three siblings Hugh, Helen and Colin also predeceased her. She leaves behind her two daughters, Sharyn (Doug) Fordham and Marilyn (Dan) Nielsen, four grandchildren, Heidi McMaster, Matthew Fordham, Adam Nielsen and Jordan (Jen) Nielsen, as well as three adorable great-grandchildren (and one more on the way), Isaac McMaster, Eliana Fordham and Kimiko Nielsen.
She was a strong, loving, generous and Godly woman. She took care of her family well, and there are scores of people throughout her 95 years whose lives she made better along the way. What a legacy she leaves!
A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Ellerslie Road Baptist Church, 10603 Ellerslie Road SW, Edmonton.
