Shirley Doris Stainton
Shirley passed away suddenly January 9, 2018 at Kootenay Lake Hospital.
Shirley was born in Spooner, Saskatchewan February 24, 1927 and at the age of 3 months moved to BC where she was raised in the gold mining camps of Sandon, Beaton, Camborne, Sheep Creek and then Nelson. She and her beloved husband Fred lived in Ainsworth, Trail, and Calgary; eventually returning to Balfour, BC in 1981.
She was predeceased by Fred and son Wynne and baby Margaret. She is survived by daughters Truus (Randy) Zelonka of Balfour, Corey (Len) Sheffield of Whitehorse, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 sisters in law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Thanks to the staff of the Nelson and Trail hospitals for their patient care.
Shirley will be greatly missed.
