In Loving Memory
Gwendoline Luckett passed away peacefully at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the age of 92. She was the wife of Trevor Luckett. Born on February 23 in Birmingham, England; she was the daughter of the late William Henry Edwards and Evelyn Daisy (Chadderton)
She will be greatly missed by her children: Deanna Luckett, David Luckett (Lois), Brian Luckett (Michelina), Francesca Patterson (Dale), Nicola Selley (Gary), Bill Luckett (Trina), Beverley Nafe and Genevieve Rudzki (Wesley); 24 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; her sister Sylvia Forrester in Birmingham, England as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her daughter Sylvia (at a young age)
What she wanted her family to remember about her was « I loved you, it was hard to let you go ».
Born in Birmingham England she immigrated to Canada in 1957 and lived in Ontario before moving to New Brunswick in 2012. A lady of many talents, she could turn a cockroach into a butterfly. There was never a Christmas or birthday without a gift often made by her loving hands. Dolls, dollhouses, building blocks, furniture and so many things made from scraps it was hard to imagine what they were before she carefully crafted and painted them. Her talent for sewing, knitting and crocheting was hard to surpass. She was a great cook and made wonderful meals and deserts. As we, her children, became parents ourselves we realize how many wonderful talents have been passed down to us and are eternally grateful. Along with raising her children she often worked outside the home retiring from Mimico Correctional Centre. In her retirement she volunteered countless hours to the Burlington Humane Society.
Her memory will forever be in our hearts. May you swim with the orcas in the oceans as you so often dreamed.
As per her wishes, there will be no visits at the funeral home or funeral services. There will be a private family ceremony held on a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home for taking such good care of our mother during the last three years.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Gwendoline Dorothy Evelyn Luckett 2018.source
