Breen,
Edith « Edie » Mable – 83, Truro, passed away
peacefully on January 7, 2018 with her loving family at her side in
The Mira, Truro after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimers.
Born in Merland, Antigonish County,
she was a daughter of the late Francis and Bernadette (Breen) Tramble.
Edie was
employed at Stanfields for 38 years and was a member of the Salvation
Army Church where she made many friends. Edie had a heart of gold,
giving what little she had to others. She was an animal lover and
enjoyed the companionship of several cats throughout her life.
Edie is
survived by her daughter, Daphne Neil, Hilden; grandson, Chad, Truro;
brother, Charles (Pauline), Fredericton; sister, Mary Brown, Truro;
several nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by her husband, Frank; son-in-law, Richard;
brother-in-law, Ken.
The family
would like to thank the staff of the Mira for their excellent loving
care of Edie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where a funeral
service will be held 2 pm Thursday, January 11, 2018, Major Bruce
Jennings officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Hilden
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Edie
to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or the SPCA Colchester Branch.
