Surrounded by her loving family, Helen Fry (nee Howe) passed on to Glory on December 31st, 2017, at Turnbull Nursing Home. Born on April 29, 1917 to the late Herbert and Margaret (Noddin) Howe and was the loving wife of the late George Fry. A member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school, was a life member of Baptist Missionary Union, Youth Leader, Choir Member and much more. Helen volunteered with Meals on Wheels for over 25 years. Her home and heart were a refuge to family and friends and many missionary’s throughout the years. Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She leaves her many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews with treasured memories. A feisty lady who embraced life with a sense of humour. Along with her parents and husband she was predeceased by brothers Owen and Gordon Howe; sisters Reta Mapplebeck, Grace Steeves, Thelma Ekstrom and infant siblings.
Helen’s family are thankful for the genuine compassion and kindness that was shown to Helen for the entirety of her stay at Turnbull Nursing Home.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held from the former St. Joachim’s Church, 603 Loch Lomond Road, from 1-2pm on Friday, January 5, 2018. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by reception.
