Frederick Vincent McDonald
1936-2017
Frederick Vincent McDonald, 80, of Moncton, passed away
peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre on
Sunday, January 8, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in Kingman, ME, he was the son of the late Frederick and
Hattie (Tucker) McDonald. Fred worked in roofing and siding until his
retirement. He came from a large family and grew up in South Branch.
He loved the outdoors and his McDonald’s coffee and
cranberry muffin.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Betty Despres; children,
Audrey Allain (Paul), Wayne (Sarah), Vincent (Kandy), Gayle Gallant
(Harmon) and Frank (Jayne); stepchildren, Hubert Despres (Shelley) and
Steve Despres (Tammy); grandchildren, Nancy (Cary), Matt (Melissa),
Jonathan, Justin (Tiana), Sarah, Patricia (Mike), Amber (Kenny),
Melissa (Jeff), Vincent, Justin, Devon, Chelsea, Katie, Justin, Dylan;
great grandchildren, Ben, Emma and Aaden; brothers, Paul McDonald
(Mareta) and Mike McDonald (Jean); sisters, Mary Morton, Agnes LeBlanc
(Omer), Catherine Anne Hudson, Ruth Warren, Muriel
«Mickey» Symes (Mervin), Charlotte LeBlanc
(Euclide), Barb Preston (Ralph) and Frances Dover; as well as many
nieces and nephews.
A Mass to celebrate and honor Fred’s life will be
held at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Dominion St.,
on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 12:00 noon, with Rev. Laurence
Quin-Morris presiding. Reception following the Mass. Interment will be
held in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, South Branch,
in the spring.
Arrangements are under the professional care of Fergusons
Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).
