TOKAR, Wolodymyr “Walter” Passed away on March 15th, 2017 at GNGH in Niagara Falls at the age of 93. Born at Village of Snizhkiv, district of Kharkiv in Ukraine, Jan. 6, 1924. In 1944 he relocated to Germany and in May of 1949 he moved to Canada to work for Ontario Hydro as a construction labourer and Steelman, first at Pine Portage and later at the Queenston Generating Station, Sir Adam Beck #2. After the project was completed he began to work for Burgess Battery Company and Ohio Brass Company in Niagara Falls in 1959 as a tow-motor operator and also worked for the City of Niagara Falls.
