Bill passed away peacefully with his loving wife at his side, at Clinton Public Hospital on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. Born in Hoevelaken, The Netherlands, on August 27, 1940, Willem van Reenen of Seaforth was in his 77th year.
Beloved husband of Lois (née Dykstra) van Reenen for just shy of 50 years. Loving father of Monica Geerts and her husband George of Walkerton and David van Reenen and his wife Cheryl of Ottawa. Cherished Opa of Caleb, Aidan and Claire. Survived by his siblings, Gerrie van Renselaar of Holland, Gert and Martha van Reenen of Holland, Marius and Grace van Reenen of Waterloo, Jan and Tjitske van Reenen of Cayuga, and siblings-in-law, Doreen Siertsema of Blyth, Helen Dykstra of Clinton, Kees and Stein Dykstra of Clinton, Francine Dykstra of Barrie, Alfred and Margaret Dykstra of Goderich, Margaret and Murray Klaas of Burlington, Bert and Nellie Dykstra of Clinton and Tom and Diane Dykstra of Listowel. Also missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Gerrit and Geertje (née Top) van Reenen, his siblings Riet van Reenen, Greetje and Arnold Schaefer, Eb van Renselaar, and siblings-in-law Marry van Reenen, Murray Siertsema, Mike Dykstra and Leo Dykstra.
Cremation is taking place and memorial visitation will be held at McGlynn Family Funeral Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Sunday, August 13th from 2 – 5 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at the Clinton Christian Reformed Church, 243 Princess St., Clinton, on Monday, August 14th at 11 a.m., with Pastor Ron Luchies officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the church hall and private inurnment will take place in Maitland Bank Cemetery, later in the day.
