Walker; Wilbert Clarence “Willy”
At Grey Bruce Health Services, Markdale on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 of Flesherton, in his 81st year. Loving husband to Gloria Sanders. Dear father of Steven of Scarborough and the late Cindy. Step-father to Barry Sanders of Eugenia, Freddie(Wendy) Sanders of Toronto and Terry Sanders of Port Elgin. Loved and remembered by grandchildren Michael and Brayden Sanders, Carlene Walker and great-granddaughter Brooklyn. Predeceased by sister Colleen Stewart of Scarborough. Brother in law of Helen Alcott of Flesherton and Wayne Bancroft(Karen) of Port Elgin. Adored uncle of Christen(Steve) Steciw, their children Megan and Matthew, and Kathleen Stewart (Paul).
After retiring from the board of education in Toronto as a mechanic, Willy spent many years touring his 1928 Model A Ford as a member of the Huronia Wire Wheel Chapter. He also enjoyed going to swap meets and was recently able to attend the Carlisle Pennsylvania event just last month. Over the years he had fixed up many other cars and trucks as well including a 1949 Chrysler Coupe and more recently working on a 1961 GMC Truck. He also belongs to the Canadian Service Station Memorabilia Club. Often referred to as a “jack of all trades” he was a master of them all as well. As a real handy many he was able to do all of the framing, wiring, plumbing, drywall and finishing touches to his home renovations with Gloria.
The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Reception Cremation Ltd., Flesherton on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service from Rock Mills Baptist Church(314009 Sideroad 35, Flesherton) on Saturday at 11am. Interment Flesherton Cemetery.
