1962-2017
Wiebe Anne Dykstra, of Havelock, NB; passed away at The
Moncton Hospital with his daughter by his side on Sunday, July, 9,
2017 at the age of 55 years.
Born in De Knipe, Netherlands he was the son of the late Jan
M. and Trijntje “Nina” (Simke) Dykstra. Wiebe settled in
Canada in 1979 where he and his family began Dykstra Farms. He was a
member of the Soils and Crop Association; he served as Executive
Director of the Atlantic Dairy and Forage Institute; a proud member of
the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 86 within the community
that he loved very much. Wiebe was a recipient of the Queens Jubilee
Medal; recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Recognition Award;
recipient of the Canadian Agri-Food Award of Excellence for
Volunteerism; recipient of the Outstanding Young Farmer Award for
organising maritime efforts to support Hay West; recipient of a
Honorary Lifetime membership for the PC Party of NB for years of
service and dedication.
Survived by daughters Marguerite N. Dykstra of Havelock and
Rianne Dykstra of Scoudouc, NB; son Jon Raymond Dykstra of PE;
brothers Marten Dykstra of the Netherlands and Ryan (Bethany) Dykstra
of Salisbury; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Besides his
parents he was predeceased by his sister Grietje Cnossen
Dykstra.
At his request there will be no public services
held.
Interment will be in The Havelock Loyalist
Cemetery.
Donations in Wiebe’s memory made to the Royal Canadian Legion
Branch 86 Havelock would be appreciated by the family.
