It is with profound regret that we announce the passing of our loving husband and father,Victor A. Spencer, age 72 of Tower Road on Wednesday, December 13th, 2017 at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex.
Victor was the son of the late Alexander (Sandy) and Agnes (Mrazek) Spencer. He was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Glace Bay. He worked in the coal mines to provide for his family, but his passion was being in the woods, working and enjoying nature. Victor was also an honorary member of the Tower Road Volunteer Fire Department.
Victor is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Betty Lou (MacDonald), his daughters, Lisa (Jamie), Whitby, Ontario and Andrea (Conrad), Glace Bay; grandchildren, Breton, Rowan and Alexis.
He is also survived by siblings, Donna (Kenny Smith), Birch Grove, Alex (Anne), Broughton, Sheila Penny (Blackie), Broughton, Edith (Fred Locke), New Brunswick, Shannon (Cathy), Broughton, Brian, Sydney, Tony (Sarah), Ontario and special sisters in law, Leona Spencer, Sydney, Linda Aucoin, Glace Bay, and Kelly MacDonald, Tower Road.
Visitation is Sunday, December 17th from 2-4 p.m. to 7-9 p.m. in V. J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Myrna McMullin is Monday at 2 p.m. in St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Glace Bay follow by a reception. The interment will be held in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney at a later date.
