Thelma Eunice Steeves- Savoie
1926-2017
Thelma Savoie (Steeves), 91, of Lower
Coverdale passed away on October 3, 2017 at the Moncton Hospital with
family at her side.
Born May 28, 1926, she was proud to be
the daughter of Jack and Sadie Steeves. Thelma fondly recalled a happy
rural childhood in Dawson Settlement.
Drives through Dawson would bring to
mind names, faces and events from her childhood years with Janet,
Carmen, Austin and Carl. This was a rich heritage, warm and
vivid even in these last years. Thelma retired from
Co-operator Insurance in 1987.
Thelma would like to be remembered for
loving and caring for her special needs
son. Her children remember her courage,
work ethic and being taught life lessons through consistent example.
Her grandchildren recall wearing her hand knit sweaters (in their
younger years), and mittens and socks as adults. She cites her faith
in God’s provision as being the source of her
strength
Survived by daughters, Carolyn Chafe
(Terry), Brenda Wilmot (Mac), Susan (Brad Colter), and sons Wendell
Steeves (Roxanne), Clayton Steeves (Debbie) and Kevin Steeves (Carol
Ann); stepsons, Claude Savoie (Claudine) and Neri Savoie
