HILLIARD, Stella Eve
Stella Eve Hilliard of Pincher Creek, Alberta, passed away at the Pincher Creek Hospital on March 23, 2017 at the age of 99 years.
Stella was the loving mother of Gordon Dirrane (Cyndi) of Nova Scotia, and stepmother of Randy (Mary) of Drumheller, AB, Darrell (Kim) of Lundbreck, AB, Les (Wendy) of Monarch, AB and son-in-law Len Verhaeghe of Airdrie, AB. She will also be dearly missed by her twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and lovingly remembered by all of her many friends and relatives.
Stella was predeceased by her husband Harvey, her two sisters, her brother, her parents, stepdaughter and grandson.
Stella was born and raised in Calgary and was a hardworking single mother. She met Harvey in 1965 and they married in 1967. They worked together and became snowbirds in the late 70s, retiring to Desert Cove in Vernon where they enjoyed their retirement years. After Harvey’s passing in 2015, she moved to Pincher Creek.
A Celebration of Stella’s Life will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 – 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
