1936-2016
The passing of Shirley Patricia Anderson of Thomas Hall, Fredericton
and formerly of McAdam, NB, wife of the late Eugene Anderson, occurred
on Friday, December 2nd , 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.
Born in Fredericton on April 27,1936, she was the daughter of the late
David and Dorothy Estabrook.
She is survived by her daughter Kathryn; chosen son John Kilbride
(Carla); grandsons Michael (Jess)and Bradley (Heather); two great
granddaughters Tenley and Gracie; one sister, Anne Murphy (Ernest); a
special cousin, Marie Roberts; a sister-in-law, Connie Estabrook;
special friends, Janice Taylor, Barb Simmons, Heather Nash and Dorothy
O’Brien.
Shirley was a dedicated grade one teacher at McAdam Elementary School
for 35 years. Slow to get angry, quick to forgive, Shirley always
looked for the best in her students.
We will be forever grateful to the caring staff of 4NE, Dr. Kelsey
Cameron and Dr. Deborah Gowan. A special thank you to Dr. Scott Bowden
whose kindness and compassion always lifted Shirley’s spirits.
It was Shirley’s request that there be no visitation or funeral. In
lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Arthritis Society or
Fredericton SPCA. A graveside service will be held in the spring at
Rockland Cemetery with the date and time to be announced.
