Peacefully at Victoria House on Saturday February 18 in her 88th year. Shirley Smith, beloved wife of the late Wilfred Smith (1986) and the late Roy Oakes (1995). Dear companion of Ross Horne (predeceased).
Dearly loved mother of David & Debra of North Bay, Wayne & Patty of Washago, Kevin & Barb of Severn, Craig & Teresa of St. Catharines and Terry & Kelly of Orillia.
Much loved Granny to her 13 grandchildren: Shawn & Lisa, Robin, Ryan, Alana, Michael, Jenn & Matt, Katie & Fernando, Alex, Courtney, Nathan, Dawson, Donny and Jack.
Adored Great-Granny to her 11 great grand-children: Emma, Mikalah, Riley, Aiden, Cameron, Regan, Logan, Melody, Matteo, Cor� and Finn.
Dear Sister of Garry (Helen) Ganton of Orillia, Doreen (Mel) Dollar (both predeceased), and Loy (predeceased) (Al) May of B.C.
Shirley will be lovingly remembered by Heather Stewart and Jane Smith, as well as many life-long friends.
Granny Smith was well known as the “Loopy Lady”, knitting and crocheting for over 70 years. Her unique loopy outfits, quite often handed down to next generations, can probably be seen worldwide. She loved her golfing and playing cards, but was most happy when her family was together. We will miss her terribly!
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Victoria House for their compassionate and outstanding care given to Shirley.
Visitation will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Wednesday, February 22nd from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel, Thursday afternoon, February 23rd at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow.
