Sharon Joyce Clelland
1946-2017
Sharon Joyce Clelland (Haggerty) peacefully left us at 10:30 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017. She is dearly missed by her soulmate and husband of fifty two years, Terrence James Clelland and her two children, Scott Clelland and Leah Clelland Jochim. As a Grandma she was loved dearly by three Grandchildren, Jamin Hamelin and Bailey and Bennett Jochim.
Sharon’s parents, Fred Haggerty and Alice Mary Green Haggerty were pioneers who brought her into this world at their homestead in Drayton Valley, Alberta. She was the youngest of 10 children. Her surviving siblings include her brother Morley Haggerty and sisters, Florence Malcolm; Lois Duncan; and Hazel Campbell-Brooks. Sharon is predeceased by her brothers, Fred Haggerty; Clarence Haggerty; Jim Haggerty and Leonard Haggerty and her eldest sister Gertrude Hooker.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated medical team at the Drayton Valley Hospital who provided vital comfort and care to Sharon. In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations in Sharon’s honor are encouraged to be given directly to the Palliative Care Unit at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre www.dvhealthfound.ca or the Cross Cancer Institute www.albertacancer.ca
To celebrate the wonderful woman of God and family that Sharon Joyce Clelland was known to be, a Memorial Service will be held at Life Church, 5115-50 Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
