Obituary for Sally Joyce Stogrin
SALLY JOYCE STOGRIN (nee Roschuk)
August 8, 1942 – October 21, 2017
SALLY JOYCE STOGRIN (nee Roschuk) Peacefully on October 21, 2017 in her 76th year. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. After an unexpected lengthy stay in the hospital Sally left us with some of her family by her side. She was comforted to the end.
Pre deceased by her husband Frank Stogrin (2012), parents William and Sophie Roschuk (nee Grzenda), in-laws Anne and Nick Polny, and her sister Rosie Roy and infant brother Daniel. She leaves behind her children William Stogrin (Jocelyn) of Gimli, MB, Sophie Stogrin (Neil) of Winnipeg Beach, MB, Carol Stogrin of Beachville, ON, Patricia Hawke (Ward) of Newmarket, ON, Katherine Green (Joseph) of Delta, BC, Joseph Stogrin (Tanya) of Chatfield, MB; cherished grandchildren Steven Stogrin, Sarah Desveaux (Darryl), Shannon Prejet (Donovan), John Green (Morgan), Scott Green (Kathryn), Shane Snow (Colette), Shawna Snow (Jason), Caitlyn Stogrin-Voisine (Ryan), Amanda Stogrin, Chris Stogrin, great-grandchildren Clare, Grace, Ruth, Tess, Dominic, and Keira. Sisters Mary Kosc, Stella Locosavich, Vicky Denton , Lorea Pleshka, and the Roschuk brothers John, Joe, Kazmir, Peter, several brothers/sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews and too many cousins to mention.
Sally was born August 8, 1942 near Poplarfield Manitoba. She met and married her sweetheart Frank in 1957 and they then moved to Toronto for a few years, and then on to Mississauga in 1964. They worked and raised their family in the same house until 1992, at which time Frank’s uncle John passed away and they then moved to Chatfield Manitoba to live on the Stogrin farm which had been designated as a century farm in 2013. They lived a happy life during those semi-retirement years. Mom loved her Bingo, and spent many hours at the Poplarfield Hall, assisting with bingo fundraising events, socials, funerals, fall supper, cleaning the hall and having many chuckles with her friends there. No one can argue Mom made the best Perogies ever! Mom was unresponsive for several hours before she passed and suddenly talked, her last words were the ball is stuck, then she called out O72.
Sally did not want a formal service, for this reason cremation has taken place and a graveside burial will take place next summer near the family homestead, with a celebration of life to follow. All are welcome to join us, bring a joke as Mom loved to laugh.
