Sally Anne Matthews, of Durham, passed away peacefully at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Sunday, April 23, 2017. She was 72.
Born on October 11, 1944 in Hamilton to the late Roy “George” and Norah (nee Baird) Matthews. A courageous and confident woman that never let anything get in her way.
Survived by loving brother Donald (Nancy) Matthews of Ingersoll. Sally was especially proud of her nieces and nephews that held a special place in their hearts. Memories of past cottage trips and her quirky ways will be remembered by Jennifer, Kristin, Jonathon, Robert, Katie, Kaytlin, Richard and Nathan. Loved great aunt of 5. Sally will be fondly remembered by her friends that were just like family at Rockwood Terrace for many years.
To honour Sally’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Family Graveside Memorial Service will take place in the Durham Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
Memorial donations to the JDRF Foundation (Juevenille Diabetes Research Foundation) would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
