Roy George Thompson
1934-2017
Roy Thompson of Moncton passed away on Wednesday, November 8,
2017. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Mayes Smith and
Helen (Knight) Thompson. He was a Mason, member of the Miramichi Lodge
#18 F&AM, was actively involved with Scouts Canada, Air Cadets
Squadron in Salisbury, The Red Cross and was a member of the Air Force
Vets. He was formerly employed as a Materials Manager for The RCAF and
the City of Moncton.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Lois (Watters);
daughters, Cindy Grummisch (Eric) and Joni Weston (Leonard); sons,
Allen (Cathy) and Christopher (Kate); eleven grandchildren and eleven
great-grandchildren; and sister, Olive Bryden (Fred). Besides his
parents, he was predeceased by sisters: Sylvia, Jenny, Florence and
Ethel; and half-brothers: Arnold, Lloyd, Stewart and Ronald
Smith.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview (869-2007) on Sunday from 2:00-4:00pm. A funeral service
will take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on
Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00am with Rev. Chris VanBuskirk
officiating. The interment will follow in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
