Our beloved husband, father, uncle and coach, Ronald Earl Smith, 72, passed away Monday January 2nd on his 52nd Wedding Anniversary. Ron was born in Galt to Earl and Jean Smith (nee Muma) on January 28, 1944. He was the oldest of three children, (sisters Judy and Bev), and raised two sons, (Landry and Devin), with his loving wife of 52 years Patti (nee Bunsch). He was a loved father-in-law to Jennifer and Susan and proud Papa to Emily, Owen, Braeden and Tate. He was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ron lived a wonderful life full of adventure and happiness while surrounded by great friends and family. He had many great adventures in the world of professional hockey and sports. He loved life and was loved. We will miss him immensely. Visitation will be held at Lounsbury Funeral Home (519-658-9366), 1766 Franklin Boulevard, Cambridge, on Wednesday, January 4th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A memorial reception for friends and family will be held at the Galt Golf and Country Club, 750 Coronation Blvd, Cambridge, on Thursday, January 5th from 1-4pm.
