Obituary Overview
Ronald Richard Kozun
February 22, 1966 – December 5, 2017
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, son, brother and uncle. Ron leaves to mourn his son Cody Doerksen, parents Al and Juliette Kozun, brothers Mike (Liz) and Alex (Tara), sisters Hailey (Kate) and Christine (Sean) Schrot, nephews Dylan Schrot, Austin, Troy and Eliott Kozun, niece Ella Kozun and many uncles and aunts, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by nephew Chad Forsyth.
Ron was born on February 22, 1966 at the old Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He went to Robertson Elementary School, Andrew Mynarski Jr High and Tech Voc High School.
From paper route to Safeway to scrapping metal Ron was a hard worker. After his time at Safeway he started to work for a demolition company. From there he learned how to recycle scrap metal and made a living on his own for many years. The last few years he was unable to work and was on social assistance due to his mental illness.
Special thanks to his Dr. Cynthia Watson and everyone who was there for him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Schizophrenia Society or a charity of one’s choice.
Celebration of life will be on December 11, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.
