In hospital, Carleton Place on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, after a hard fought battle with his family at his side, in his 73rd year.
Much loved and devoted husband to Sandra (nee Thompson). Cherished and much loved father of Dawna-Lea Hurdis (Brent) and David (Dawn). Much loved grandfather of Lyndsey-Dawn, Matthew (Kelly), Dawson, Chanelle, Shyanna and Alex. Great-grandfather of Colin, Brayden, Emmett, Ava, Lilly and Daxson. Dear brother of Velma Smith and Gary Brown. Predeceased by 3 sisters and 1 brother. Dear brother-in-law of Dawna Stanzel and Terry Thompson (Chris). Survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may pay their respects at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. on Saturday until time of service in the chapel at 10:30 a.m.
