Passed away peacefully at The Ottawa Hospital-General Campus on Thursday December 22nd, 2016 at the age of 87.
Rita is now joyfully reunited with her husband Noé (1989) and daughter Teresa McConnell (2012).
Loving mother to Paul (Cathy), John, Mark (Carole), Vincent, Christopher (former spouse Sophie Tremblay) and Michael (Kristina). Deeply missed by her grandchildren Patrick, Jennifer, Matthew, Sarah, Sean, Katie, Annick, Caroline, Nathalie, Quinn, and Carter as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her parents David and Noriel (née Crough) Scollard, her sisters Loretta ‘Sis’ (late Laurie), Regina ‘Jeanna’ (late Bernie) and brothers Alphonse ‘Al’ (Corrine), John ‘Jay’ and Fr. Joseph. Rita is survived by siblings Marcella ‘Marcie’ and Gerald.
Friends may pay respects at Kelly Funeral Home, Walkley Chapel, 1255 Walkley Road, Ottawa, ON (613-731-1255) on Wednesday, December 28th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Thursday to Resurrection of Our Lord for Mass of Christian Funeral at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Hope Cemetery following a reception in Church Hall.
