1941-2017
Richard E. Steeves, 75, of Weldon passed away peacefully
surrounded by his loving family at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday,
January 28, 2017. Richard was born in Albert, NB on October
3, 1941. He was the son of the late Ernest and Myrtle
(Crawford) Steeves.
Richard retired from NBTel in 1997, following a career of 38
years. He was an avid Amateur (Ham) Radio Operator (VEIXL),
and a life member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was
passionate about his heritage and was the President of Steeves Family
Inc., having committed over 40 years to the
organization.
He will forever be in the hearts of his loving wife of 46
years, Lorna (Davidson) Steeves, daughters: Heather Carlin (Greg),
Cathy Weber (Mark) and Laura Steeves; his brother, Gary F. Steeves
(Sharron); his cherished grandchildren; Isaac, Ben, Claire, Nathan,
James and Julia, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
Road, Riverview on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A service celebrating
his life will take place on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 11 AM at
Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Carol Mullin
officiating, assisted by Rev. Jack Allen. The interment will take
place in the Hopewell Hill Cemetery at a later date. Donation to
Heritage Hillsborough or The Friends of The Moncton Hospital
(Palliative Care Unit) would be appreciated by the family. Online
