Rey was an adventurous, outgoing person with many different interests. He enjoyed karaoke. He was an athletic person, participating in many marathons and triathlons. Rey also loved nature, in fact he was an avid hunter in the Philippines and enthusiastic about fishing in Canada.
Through his life experience, Rey was able to impart his strong faith in God with scriptures. Friendships that was dear to his heart, shared with sincere love to his workplace and even strangers. He was able to build strong relationships with his friends and was able to treat them as family. Rey was an inspiration for those people who surrounded him, he was known for his unwavering faith to God that throughout his battle with cancer, he continued to praise & honor his Savior until his last breath. Just like an athlete pressing towards the goal and winning the prize, for him he won that prize, the prize of faithfulness and humility to His loving Savior Jesus Christ who gave him the hope and life everlasting in the next life.
He fought hard with cancer, persevered all the tests, procedures, chemotherapy / radiation treatments and even endured the excruciating pain from the disease but despite all he didn’t give up until his last breathe for his life and for his family.
Rey was very thankful for all the doctors, nurses, social workers, palliative care team, care aides and all the support staff for all their wonderful care throughout his journey in battling cancer.
