Ramona Mae Campbell – 86, of
Kentville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Thursday,
November 30, 2017 at home. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of
the late Clyde and Mae (Randall) Hiltz. She was a member of St. James
Anglican Church, Kentville and a 35-year member of the Ladies
Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville.
She was a 30-year sponsor of World Vision, an avid gardener, and loved
crafts, cooking and sewing. She had been employed at a variety of
locations, including Cleyle’s, Moir’s Chocolate
Factory, Zeller’s, Wandlyn Inn, and Towers Department Store.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Katherine Anderson),
Timberlea; Kevin (Louise), Meadowvale; Lyle, Calgary, AB; Sheila
Murphy, Maitland; a brother, James (Ola) Hiltz, Telkwa, BC; a sister,
Shirley Hiltz-Charnock, Kentville; ten grandchildren, Mark, Scott,
Drew, Jeremy, Grant, Jackie, Stephan, Brayden, Charles and Jeanette;
two great grandchildren, Braxton and Adele. She was predeceased by her
husband, Hugh Charles Campbell; a son, Darrell; a daughter-in-law,
Carol. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017
in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville with a Royal Canadian
Legion Ladies Auxiliary service to be held at 6:00 p.m. The funeral
service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017, in St.
James Anglican Church, Kentville, The Rev’d Dr. John Roddam
and The Rev’d Catherine Desloges officiating.
Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings
County. A reception will follow in the church hall at St. James
Anglican Church. Flowers are welcome, as Ramona loved flowers.
Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a
charity of your choice. The family would like to express their thanks
to Dr. Nunn, the Victorian Order of Nurses and the Palliative Care
Team for the care provided to Ramona. Funeral arrangements have been
entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
