It is with sadness that we announce the passing of John Popik of Thorsby, AB at the age of 84 years, surrounded by his family.
John will be remembered by his loving wife Natalia Popik of 42 years; step-son Myroslaw (Oksana) Chernysh; granddaughter Tetyana (Andriy) Petrivskyy and greatgrandchildren Khrystia and Nelly; granddaughter Natalia (Ihor) Zahidniy and family in Ukraine; sister Stella Kuzio and family; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
John was predeceased by his parents Peter and Emma Popik; brother William Popik; and brother-in-law John Kuzio.
Prayers will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Thorsby, AB.
Divine Liturgy will take place on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Thorsby, AB, with Rev. Mark Bayrock officiating. Interment will take place following the service at St. John Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Thorsby, AB.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church (Building Repair Fund), PO Box 403, Thorsby, AB.
