It is with heavy hearts that the family of Phyllis McIntosh
announces her passing on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, in Fredericton,
NB.
Born in Minto, NB, on May 27, 1930, she was the daughter of
the late Harry and Edith (Rogers) Hawkes and the wife of the late
Claude McIntosh.
Phyllis is survived by her special family, son, Roland
McIntosh (Peggy), NB; grandchildren, Scott McIntosh (Melissa) and
Jeremy McIntosh (Krista); great grandchildren, Brayden, Keyra and
Owen; 1 sister-in-law; 3 brothers-in-law as well as several cousins,
nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Phyllis was
predeceased by her brother Orvile Hawkes and sister Evelyn
Thorton.
A long-time member of the Capital Community Church, she
enjoyed helping anyway she could. It was a great part of her life. She
worked at the cotton mill early in her life, then got into all kinds
of crafts, doing and attending many craft sales. Phyllis and her
husband Claude enjoyed many summer times with their friends in their
travel trailers.
Phyllis’s family would like to extend a warm thank
you to her church family and neighbours for their kindness during the
past few months.
Visitation will be held at the Capital Community Church (71
Downing Street, Fredericton, NB) on Friday, March 24, 2017, from 2-4
and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the church on
Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 2:00 PM. Interment will take
place in the Full Gospel Cemetery in Minto, New Brunswick, at a later
date. Donations in Phyllis’ memory can be made to Hospice
Fredericton or to the charity of the donor’s
choice.
