1928-2017
Earle (Kirby), Phyllis Lorraine,
Passed away April 2, 2017, in Sherbrooke. Phyllis was predeceased by
her husband of 66 years, John “Jack” and by her
first son, Chris (Kanako). She is survived by her sons, Gregory,
Stephen (Julie) and their daughters, Elyse and Leanne, and Philip
(Deirdre). Phyllis met Jack at a young age in Halifax where they were
both born on May 24, 1928. They married on June 30, 1951. In 1962
Phyllis and John moved to Alberta where they raised their family. This
past December, Phyllis became ill while visiting relatives in Nova
Scotia and was moved into High Crest Nursing Home in Sherbrooke. The
family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors,
nurses and staff at St. Martha’s Hospital in Antigonish, St.
Mary’s Hospital in Sherbrooke and the wonderful staff at
High Crest Nursing Home in Sherbrooke. We would especially like to
thank Kathy Hay, Carol Beaver, and Anne MacDonald whose regular visits
brightened mom’s final days. A special thank you to our
cousin Dawn Seymour in Calgary who spent much time with mom over the
years and Aunt Jean D’Entremont for all of her caring
support. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified and
compassionate care of the G.W. Giffin Funeral Home Ltd, 17545 Highway
