Philip Sargent

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Philip James Sargent of Rockwood. Beloved father of Marylou Hanhart and her husband Harry; loving grandfather of Brittany and Tristan of Prince George, BC; dear brother of Pat (late Bill Patterson), Maureen (Greg Cameron), the late Judy (late Wayne Pries), the late Bernice (Glen Gibbs), the late Jack (Joyce Sargent) and twin brother of the late Mike (Jane Sargent); son of the late James and Myrtle Sargent. He will be missed by former spouse Sandy, and by his many nieces and nephews.
Phil grew up in Acton. He worked at many jobs before his retirement. He drove a taxi-cab in Georgetown, part-time, after his retirement, to keep busy. Phil loved country music. He loved working with wood, and as a hobby, he would make beautiful furniture pieces and clocks. Phil had a great sense of humour and always had a story to tell. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Friends are invited to join the family at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Rockwood Chapel, 117 Guelph St., Rockwood, on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place at the funeral home at 1 p.m.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Donations can be made at the funeral home, or donations and condolences may be sent online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
